Role Overview
BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Weapon Senior Superintendent to join our team in Taif. This full-time role requires over 10 years of experience and offers a competitive salary. The successful candidate will lead the development, effectiveness, and consolidation of approximately 65 Armaments supervisors and tradesmen, comprising both RSAF and CMS personnel, within the Aircraft Generation Flight at KFdAB. This position involves managing critical engineering activities and ensuring the effective supervision of Weapons personnel to guarantee that all maintenance on Typhoon aircraft is conducted in strict accordance with The RSAF Regulatory Framework. The Superintendent will also be responsible for supervising RSAF & CMS personnel, leading their mentoring, and facilitating their consolidation development within the Forward Maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish the optimal technical development approach for approximately 65 Armaments tradesmen.
- Lead the technical development of Armaments tradesmen, including RSAF and CMS consolidation.
- Develop and maintain an individual development plan for each member of the Armament trade.
- Provide trade leadership in the effective control and supervision of all maintenance activities performed on Typhoon aircraft by Armament tradesmen.
- Ensure all personnel engage in activities within their Area of Responsibility following correct practices and observing safety precautions, adhering to the requirements detailed in the Salam Support Safety Case Report.
- Ensure no individual is exposed to unnecessary or uncontrolled risk within their Area of Responsibility, as far as reasonably practicable.
- Verify that all maintenance activities conducted are in accordance with approved data and performed by appropriately authorised, qualified, and experienced personnel.
- Implement good husbandry practices and effective Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control measures.
- Ensure relevant Safety Management Systems and Maintenance Error Management Systems are understood and implemented by supervised staff.
- Coach and mentor BAES and RSAF personnel under supervision, transferring knowledge and delivering consolidation development to RSAF & CMS personnel.
- Complete any other reasonable duties or requests as directed by appropriate line managers.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Education to HNC level or a recognised equivalent, or relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace-applied training.
- Completion of a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in industry/military or a similar qualification in aircraft systems.
- Previous experience with Typhoon Weapon Systems, including a formal ‘Q’ annotation.
- Substantial post-qualification experience in military fast jet maintenance support at a Senior Supervisor level within an operational military flying environment.
- Proven ability to manage engineering personnel at all levels.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills for coordinating activities, communicating effectively, influencing decisions, and directing tasks.
- A solid understanding of company processes, procedures, and broader industry knowledge.
Desirable Skills and Attributes
- An understanding of engineering operating procedures.
- Proven managerial experience within the aerospace industry, preferably gained on 3rd and/or 4th Generation military aircraft at a Senior Supervisor level or equivalent.
- Experience working in the aviation industry within a Gulf Coast Country.
- The ability to act on own initiative within the scope of the job.
- A conscientious approach to work and meticulous attention to detail.
- A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
- An understanding of ESS or similar electronic-based reporting systems.
