AI/LLM Engineer

About the Role

Eram Talent is seeking an AI/LLM Engineer to join our team in Thuwal, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is focused on developing, deploying, and evaluating an Arabic AI tutor for mathematics and computer science. The role involves preparing Arabic training data, fine-tuning and aligning LLMs, and integrating the tutor into a learning platform for a pilot program in Saudi schools.

Project Context

This position is part of the RDIA-funded project 5870, titled "An AI-Powered Arabic Tutoring Platform for STEM Education in the Kingdom." The project aims to enhance STEM education through advanced AI solutions. Two engineers will be hired for this specific role, contributing to a significant educational initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Arabic training datasets using educational materials and consented platform interactions.
• Fine-tune, align, and evaluate commercial and open-source LLMs on Shaheen III and Ibex computing platforms.
• Develop Arabic STEM benchmarks, preference-training methods, and student-safety guardrails.
• Integrate AI tutoring capabilities into the learning platform, including the development of Arabic right-to-left interfaces.
• Deploy and optimize models to ensure reliable, low-latency real-time interactions.
• Support the implementation and evaluation of school pilot programs, including collecting teacher feedback.
• Ensure student data privacy and compliance with Saudi data protection requirements.
• Contribute to research publications, technical reports, and other project deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience. A strong understanding of AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) is essential, along with the ability to work with Arabic language data and educational technologies.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Thuwal, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a project team focused on advancing AI applications in education, specifically for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
