TAGMATIX360 is seeking a dedicated Linux Specialist to join our team. This full-time position is based in Makkah, specifically in Thuwal and Makkah cities, and involves providing critical support and administration for our Linux infrastructure.

Role Overview

The Linux Specialist will be responsible for the advanced administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of Linux systems. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our Linux environments, including supporting specialized scientific and containerized workloads. A key aspect of this position involves developing and maintaining automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 support for Linux systems and resolve complex incidents.
• Troubleshoot Linux OS issues, including boot failures, kernel issues, services, package management, upgrades, and migrations.
• Perform OS patching, vulnerability management, and system hardening.
• Optimize Linux system performance for CPU, memory, storage, and NVIDIA GPU workloads.
• Develop and maintain automation using Ansible, Puppet, Bash, and Python.
• Manage infrastructure lifecycle using GitLab CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Support VDI technologies including SLURM, AWS DCV, Docker, and Kasm Workspaces.
• Configure and maintain scientific runtime environments using Lmod/Environment Modules.
• Administer Linux agents such as Automox, Nessus, and Puppet.
• Support NFS/SMB storage and troubleshoot containerized workloads.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive automation improvements.
• Coordinate with infrastructure teams for issues beyond the VDI layer.

Required Qualifications

• Strong Linux L2/L3 administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Ubuntu LTS and Rocky Linux.
• Experience managing NVIDIA GPU compute environments.
• Expertise in Ansible, Puppet, Automox, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong automation and scripting skills using Bash and Python.
• Experience supporting Docker-based container platforms.
• Knowledge of SLURM, AWS DCV, and Kasm Workspaces is preferred.
• Experience with scientific software runtime and environment modules.
• Knowledge of NFS/SMB storage administration.
• Ability to provide on-site infrastructure support.

Work Environment and Experience

This is a full-time position requiring on-site presence in Thuwal and Makkah. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in Linux system administration and support. The salary for this role will be disclosed during the interview process.
