The Barista Role

The Barista is responsible for the precise preparation and serving of coffee, espresso, tea, and other specialty beverages. This full-time role requires meticulous attention to detail, comprehensive product knowledge, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest interactions within a dynamic environment. The Barista also contributes to maintaining the cleanliness, inventory, and overall presentation of the café or coffee service area.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and timely delivery of all beverages.
• Provide warm, attentive, and knowledgeable service to enhance the guest experience.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation throughout service periods.
• Monitor and proactively replenish inventory of coffee, milk, syrups, and related supplies.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment safely, reporting any issues promptly.
• Uphold all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Process guest orders and payments accurately using the POS system.
• Demonstrate strong product knowledge of coffee beans, brewing methods, teas, and specialty beverages to confidently recommend and upsell.
• Personalize service by engaging with guests and, where appropriate, using names.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient service flow.
• Assist with setup before service and breakdown/cleaning after shifts.
• Prepare mise en place in advance to support peak service periods.
• Support onboarding of new team members by demonstrating beverage preparation and service standards.
• Maintain Faena service standards in appearance, behavior, and guest interaction.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience as a Barista, typically 0-1 years, in a high-volume or luxury hospitality environment.
• Knowledge of espresso preparation, specialty coffee, and brewing techniques.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic cash handling procedures.
• Barista certification or hospitality training is considered an advantage.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based at FAENA The Red Sea, located in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The role operates within a fast-paced hospitality setting, requiring consistent interaction with guests and team members.
