BD Director

About the Role

Viasat is seeking a BD Director to join the Key Markets Team, focusing on business development activities within Saudi Arabia and the GCC region. This full-time role is primarily centered on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), a rapidly expanding market for Viasat's International Government sector. The successful candidate will drive lead generation, opportunity development, and campaign management, with a strong emphasis on pipeline growth within the government sector.

Role Context and Impact

The BD Director will be instrumental in developing Viasat International Government's business in strategic growth markets, with KSA being a key focus. This position involves working with business areas to develop and deliver solutions that provide mission-critical communications for government customers. The role offers exposure to senior leadership due to the strategic importance of the region and requires collaboration across various business units, functional leaders, and corporate functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the strategy and deliverables necessary for business growth.
• Develop the long-term pipeline that contributes to the VIG long-range business plan.
• Generate new business opportunities with support from various business areas.
• Collaborate across business functions to support in-country activities.
• Lead and manage stakeholder engagement efforts.
• Lead in-country campaigns in conjunction with business areas.
• Develop business cases to support in-country activities aimed at increasing Viasat's Pwin (probability of win).
• Work effectively with strategic advisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the broader GCC region.
• A strong background in government sector business development.
• Proven ability to work effectively in cross-domain, cross-functional, and cross-business virtual team environments.

Work Environment

This role operates within Viasat's Key Markets Team, which is responsible for developing international government business in strategic growth markets. The position requires working in virtual team setups, collaborating with diverse internal stakeholders including business areas, business units, functional leaders, and corporate functions. The primary focus is on the Saudi Arabian market, with responsibilities extending to the GCC region.
