Central Control Room Operator

About the Role

ACWA Power is seeking experienced Central Control Room (CCR) Operators for full-time opportunities within power generation and water desalination plants in Saudi Arabia. This role is critical for monitoring and controlling plant operations, coordinating field activities, and ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance through advanced control systems.

Job Summary

The CCR Operator is responsible for the continuous oversight and control of plant processes using DCS/SCADA systems. This involves responding to operational deviations, executing approved procedures, and coordinating with various teams to maintain optimal plant functionality and safety standards. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant equipment and processes via DCS/SCADA systems, adhering to approved operating procedures and safety standards.
• Oversee RO desalination systems, including pretreatment, high-pressure pumps, membrane trains, energy recovery devices, and water quality, or CCGT systems, including gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, generators, and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Monitor operating parameters, alarms, trends, and equipment conditions, identifying abnormalities and taking authorized corrective actions.
• Execute approved plant start-up, shutdown, equipment changeover, and emergency operating procedures.
• Coordinate with field operators and Shift Supervisors on equipment isolation, permit-to-work requirements, maintenance activities, and safe return to service.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, operational records, equipment defect reports, and shift handover documentation.
• Coordinate with laboratory and field teams to monitor plant chemistry, water quality, and operational conditions.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, emergency response procedures, and operational safety standards.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 4-5 years of experience as a CCR Operator in power generation or water desalination plants.
• Proficiency in monitoring and controlling plant operations using DCS/SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of operating procedures and safety standards in industrial plant environments.
• Ability to identify operational abnormalities and implement corrective actions effectively.

Work Environment

This is a plant-based position located in Saudi Arabia. The role operates on a shift basis, requiring support during plant emergencies, start-ups, and shutdowns to ensure continuous operational readiness.
