Construction Manager Electrical BESS

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Construction Manager - Electrical - BESS to support the execution of electrical construction activities for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This full-time role involves ensuring safe, timely, high-quality, and compliant execution of projects according to approved drawings, specifications, and schedules. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate electrical installation activities for BESS, MV/LV systems, transformers, PCS/inverters, switchgear, cables, earthing, and auxiliary systems.
• Plan and monitor daily and weekly construction activities against the approved project schedule.
• Coordinate effectively with Civil, Mechanical, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, Procurement, T&C, and subcontractor teams.
• Supervise subcontractors and monitor manpower, materials, equipment, and productivity on site.
• Ensure all installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards, and client requirements.
• Review method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and risk assessments for all electrical works.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, Non-Conformance Report (NCR) resolution, and punch-point closure with the QA/QC team.
• Liaise with vendors for equipment installation, inspection, testing, and technical support.
• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and energization activities.
• Monitor project progress, identify constraints or delays, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the client and consultant for inspections, approvals, and resolution of technical issues.
• Maintain comprehensive progress reports, site records, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements and electrical safety procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical construction, preferably within BESS projects or related energy infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate complex electrical installation activities.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including MV/LV, transformers, PCS/inverters, and switchgear.
• Proficiency in reviewing technical documentation such as drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs.
• Experience in coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality on construction sites.

Work Environment

This role operates within a dynamic construction project environment, requiring close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external partners. The Construction Manager will be actively involved in site-based activities to oversee project execution and ensure adherence to all project parameters.
