About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Deal Quality Specialist to join the Strategy & Business Development Division (SBDD) within the Gas Venture Department. This full-time role involves supporting the commercial business development team in the LNG business and leading the economic evaluation of LNG projects for investment decision-making. The SBDD is responsible for sourcing and developing international gas value chain investment opportunities, coordinating their execution, and managing post-transaction investments with the goal of establishing an integrated global gas business by 2035.

Role Context and Responsibilities

As part of the economics modeling team, the Deal Quality Specialist will primarily support the commercial business development team focused on the supply side of the LNG business. This includes leading the economic evaluation of LNG projects, encompassing plant investment and offtake trading. The role also requires engagement with support functions such as Treasury, Group Finance, and Strategy & Market Analysis for model sign-off and due diligence processes.

Key Duties

  • Screen global upstream gas and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) investment opportunities.
  • Identify and characterize project opportunities, prioritizing them based on defined criteria such as upstream potential, project maturity, partner quality, project economics, and local policies.
  • Manage complex deal structures, including the development and interpretation of data for technical and confidential analysis.
  • Assess pre-Final Investment Decision (FID) projects and coordinate M&A task forces to gather inputs from various units (Upstream, Gas Ventures Department Origination, Legal).
  • Conduct negotiations with partners to finalize investment terms and execute transactions.
  • Manage technical, financial, commercial, environmental, and legal due diligences, including external advisors.
  • Identify alternative investments for the Gas Ventures Department (GVD) and assess the acquisition of stakes in existing or FID projects.
  • Support management-level decision-making with reports on specific opportunities.
  • Coordinate communication on LNG and gas opportunities across the organization.
  • Provide Market Intelligence with inputs on focus areas and request ad-hoc analyses for specific project assessments.
  • Provide necessary inputs for contract negotiations and management for specific projects, involving Origination in M&A task forces.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
