The Role of Director - Finance

Amrak Facilities Management Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director - Finance to lead its finance department. This full-time role requires strong knowledge of financial management, familiarity with the Facilities Management sector, and extensive knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor actual performance against budget, and provide detailed analysis and recommendations.
  • Analyze and create financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices.
  • Identify potential cash flow problems and financial irregularities.
  • Liaise with department heads to ensure budget adherence.
  • Prepare tax returns accurately and ensure timely payment of company taxes.
  • Supervise and guide accounting clerks and junior accounting staff.
  • Provide regular updates to management regarding company finances.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting legislation.
  • Set up, build, and develop the Accounting Operations Team and provide supervision.
  • Manage Withholding Tax and VAT Return Filing, and prepare Financial Reports and monthly closings.
  • Develop and implement the company’s financial strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial performance to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage the company’s cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure financial stability.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax advisors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead or support special financial projects such as acquisitions, cost/value analysis, or financial modeling.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in finance.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Familiarity with the Facilities Management sector.

Work Environment

The Director - Finance will coordinate activities across various departments, including Admin, Legal, Projects, Procurements, Marketing, and Audit, to ensure efficient operations aligned with strategic plans, policies, and procedures. The role also involves serving as a role model to foster employee awareness and commitment to Amrak’s vision, mission, values, and corporate strategy.
