Role Overview: Director, Solution Architect

The Director, Solution Architect, a full-time position at Mastercard (KSA), is a key partner to frontline teams during the solutioning process. This role focuses on maximizing the impact of solutions for clients by curating and aggregating products for specific segments. The Solution Architect assists Account Managers and Directors in developing comprehensive, multi-product, and multi-platform solutions, playing a critical role in ensuring relevance and driving differentiation across segments to improve relationships, market share, and revenue. This position reports to the Customer Solutions Center Lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Mastercard Capabilities Expert for Assigned Segment: Understands the value chain of assigned segments to identify trends, needs, and opportunities. Possesses a strong understanding of Mastercard products, services, and corporate strategy. Collaborates with frontline teams to identify customer needs and recommends needs-based solutions in coordination with Product, Service, and Marketing teams. Bridges the gap between the frontline sales team and product/solution expertise.
• Lead Complex Value Proposition and Solution Development: Engages in deals when solutions are complex or require customization, such as combining multiple products, services, or platforms. Works with the Customer Solutions Center Lead (CSCL) to identify the appropriate "squad" for solutioning. Partners with Account Managers and Business Development teams to develop and quantify value propositions for integrated, customized solutions. Iterates with frontline teams to ensure solutions meet client-specific needs and develops business requirements documents in collaboration with product specialists and technical architects. Engages relevant expertise within and across Customer Solutions Centers as needed.
• Market/Segment Innovation: Creates and proactively builds solutions for known market needs by combining assets from the Mastercard toolbox into bundles that address key customer pain points. Identifies external enabling partners, such as fintechs, for solutioning when internal capabilities are not present. Replicates successful solutions and sales approaches.
• Knowledge, Insights, and Best Practice Sharing: Shares best practices with the Solution Architect community. Provides input to product/solution groups and segment leads to enhance product/solution and segment strategies to meet market needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Deep understanding and experience in product development, product management, consumer experience, and problem-solving.
• Good understanding of Mastercard products and services.
• Proficiency in technical basics, APIs, and process flows.
• Ability to comprehend business and market context, as well as customer needs, to architect integrated and innovative solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to architect integrated solutions by combining Mastercard's products and services to meet strategic customer needs, with knowledge of effective solutions in various environments.
• Highly collaborative with strong communication skills and a natural ability to integrate, develop, and deliver products and solutions for customer needs.
• Ability to rally and gain support from internal stakeholders to build organizational backing for proposed solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data, deriving meaningful implications and recommendations.
