Engineer MEP

About the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking an Engineer - MEP for a full-time position. This role is responsible for overseeing and monitoring all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction activities. The primary objective is to ensure compliance with approved designs, project specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable standards for complex building developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the installation of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing networks, firefighting systems, ELV systems, and other building services.
• Verify that construction activities are executed according to approved methodologies, drawings, and engineering standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship quality and compliance with project specifications.
• Witness testing activities and ensure MEP installations are completed in accordance with approved inspection and test plans.
• Identify construction deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and project teams.

Technical Duties

• Review MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, material submissions, and technical proposals for compliance with design intent.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, and specialist engineering teams to resolve design and construction interface issues.
• Evaluate requests for information, technical queries, and proposed design modifications affecting MEP systems.
• Assist in reviewing value engineering proposals and alternative solutions related to building services systems.
• Provide technical recommendations and engineering support to address site-related challenges.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field. The role requires a foundational understanding of MEP systems and construction processes to ensure successful delivery of projects in accordance with quality, safety, and performance requirements.
