Job Description

About the Role

Hill International is seeking an Engineering Interface Engineer to join their team. This full-time position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience, focusing on ensuring design correctness, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. The role involves significant coordination and management of design aspects within project teams and with external consultants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance of Design Consultant(s) to ensure design correctness, completeness, and compliance with scope of work requirements.
  • Control and manage Senior Discipline Engineers within the Project Management Team regarding design aspects.
  • Manage the timely provision of engineering and design information between parties to support associated stakeholders.
  • Identify the need for and ensure appropriate reviews and audits are implemented to assure interface management performance.
  • Evaluate and endorse variation orders/concession requests submitted by Design Consultant(s) for Client's approval.
  • Attend all meetings with Design Consultant(s), their sub-consultants, and Client's Meetings.
  • Review project design strategy and provide recommendations to the client.
  • Proactively support weekly and monthly interface management meetings to resolve outstanding interface issues.
  • Suggest alternative materials/systems to improve process design, future maintenance, and construction costs.
  • Assist in preparing questionnaires for the pre-qualification of design consultants and building contractors, and support the pre-qualification process and bidder list recommendation.
  • Assist, monitor, and ensure timely submittals of all documents from Design Consultant(s) to government departments until final permits are obtained to proceed with works through to completion.
  • Coordinate with regional/home office for required technical support to ensure design correctness and completeness.

Compliance and Professional Conduct

  • Maintain awareness of relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures within Hill International, ensuring continuous compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience in an engineering or project management support role, with a focus on design coordination and interface management.
