Job Description
About Makera and the Role
Makera is a gaming and digital entertainment company that engages over 1 million monthly active users, with a strong focus on Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences across MENA and international markets. We are seeking a Game Producer to join our team in Saudi Arabia on a contract basis. This role involves taking ownership of games within Makera’s User-Generated Content (UGC) portfolio, managing the full game lifecycle from concept through live operations and ongoing optimization.
Role Overview
The Game Producer is responsible for the entire production lifecycle of assigned games, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and continuous post-launch improvement. This involves defining production plans, milestones, and release schedules, while maintaining clear goals across gameplay, retention, monetization, content, and growth. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including product, game design, development, art, QA, community, and monetization.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage the production lifecycle of assigned games from concept to launch and ongoing LiveOps, defining plans, milestones, priorities, and release schedules.
- Translate game concepts and product goals into clear tasks and production roadmaps, coordinating multidisciplinary teams including developers, designers, artists, and QA.
- Oversee priorities, dependencies, blockers, and deadlines across multiple workstreams, ensuring features are properly scoped and projects progress efficiently.
- Collaborate with designers and leadership on gameplay systems, progression, economy, and content, reviewing features from both player experience and commercial perspectives.
- Plan and manage ongoing game updates, events, seasons, and content drops, maintaining a consistent release cadence and addressing player feedback.
- Monitor key game metrics such as player activity, retention, engagement, and monetization, identifying underperforming areas and proposing data-driven improvements.
- Ensure features are thoroughly tested before release, coordinating QA processes and maintaining clear acceptance criteria to meet Makera’s quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in game production, game development, product management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing games or digital products through multiple development stages.
- Strong understanding of game development pipelines and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams (development, design, art, QA).
- Proficiency in project management and organizational skills, with the ability to translate high-level ideas into clear execution plans.
- Solid understanding of player experience and live game operations.
- Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Strong English communication skills.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess experience in User-Generated Content (UGC) games, live-service games, multiplayer games, or free-to-play titles. Experience with game economies, progression systems, LiveOps, seasonal content, gaming communities, and game analytics is highly valued. Candidates with a background in startup game studios and experience managing games with active player communities will have a significant advantage. While programming skills are not required, a strong understanding of game development processes is essential for effective communication with technical teams and realistic production decision-making.
Key Competencies and Company Context
Successful candidates for this role demonstrate strong ownership, ensuring projects move forward and are shipped effectively by balancing quality, scope, and timelines. They possess a deep understanding of game mechanics, including progression, economy, retention, gameplay loops, content, and monetization. Key competencies include high organization, proactive problem-solving, active listening to player feedback, and a strategic focus on post-launch LiveOps, updates, retention, and long-term growth. Clear communication skills are essential for aligning leadership and production teams.
Makera operates a growing portfolio of games and digital experiences within the UGC ecosystem, emphasizing rapid development, strong communities, frequent updates, and continuous experimentation. This position offers significant ownership over live products, direct influence on player experiences, and opportunities for growth into broader production and portfolio leadership responsibilities as the company expands.
