Grounds Supervisor

About the Role

St. Regis is seeking a Grounds Supervisor to oversee and maintain the aesthetic and functional aspects of the property's grounds. This full-time role involves managing various outdoor operations, ensuring high standards of maintenance, and supervising a team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience in grounds management.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inventory of tools, equipment, and materials, and place orders for plants, new and replacement equipment, or supplies while adhering to budget constraints.
• Record water usages from pumps and wells, and perform minor repairs to structures using hand and power tools.
• Mix, prepare, and apply chemical solutions for pest, weed, or plant disease control, maintaining accurate records of fertilizer and pesticide applications.
• Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems, and operate tractors, trucks, or utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model.
• Ensure adherence to all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reporting defective equipment, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate professionally.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, support team goals, and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Perform snow removal and ice management as applicable, and other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in grounds supervision or a related field.
• Ability to complete safety training and certifications.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing written documents accurately and completely.
• Capability to visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, and to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Work Environment

The role requires working in various outdoor conditions and may involve physical exertion. The Grounds Supervisor will be part of a team dedicated to maintaining the high standards of St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, which operates under the Marriott International portfolio.
