The Host/Hostess Role

The Host/Hostess (Saudi only) at The Ritz-Carlton is responsible for ensuring the "Gold Standards" of service are delivered consistently and thoughtfully. This full-time position involves welcoming guests, managing seating arrangements, and maintaining the dining area's presentation and cleanliness. The role is foundational to the guest experience, contributing to the brand's reputation as a leader in luxury hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon arrival and determine party size.
• Seat guests efficiently at clean, available tables, ensuring proper setup including chairs and menus.
• Guide guests through dining areas and provide assistance as needed.
• Arrange tables, chairs, and settings, including organizing seating for groups with special requirements.
• Verify that place settings are appropriate, with each guest having a napkin, clean silverware, and other standard items.
• Inspect menus for currency, cleanliness, quantity, and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, adhering to clean-as-you-go procedures.
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service quality, safety, and guest well-being.
• Adhere to all company safety and security policies; report incidents and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, and answer telephones with appropriate etiquette.
• Develop positive working relationships with colleagues and support team goals.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 0-1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
• Completion of safety training and certifications as required.
