Role Summary

The Manager Loss Prevention is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the loss prevention department. This full-time role focuses on protecting property assets, employees, and guests, while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and Standard Operating Procedures. The position involves training staff in emergency procedures, implementing prevention measures, and maintaining guest and employee satisfaction within budgetary guidelines. A minimum of 2-5 years of experience is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily department functions to protect property assets, employees, and guests.
  • Maintain required logs, certifications, and documents in accordance with law and SOPs.
  • Train staff in established emergency procedures and implement accident and fire prevention protocols.
  • Assist the Director of Engineering with fire prevention programs and emergency preparedness.
  • Conduct hazard and risk assessments, including quarterly OSHA/SAFETY audits, incident tracking, and hazard abatement.
  • Develop and implement "shut down" procedures to secure all property areas.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and safety regulations, and follow proper key control guidelines.
  • Develop monthly checklists for CCTV equipment, alarmed doors, and duress alarms to ensure functionality.
  • Incorporate recording system inspections into patrols of all interior and exterior property areas.
  • Follow Duty of Care processes for guest and employee protection, and investigate unusual activities.
  • Handle complaints, settle disputes, resolve grievances, and negotiate as needed.
  • Implement action plans to monitor and control risk, and oversee all loss prevention operations.
  • Guide the Accident Prevention Committee and oversee the first aid program.
  • Oversee the claims process and monitor General Liability and Worker's Compensation cases.
  • Communicate safety procedures, ensure employee understanding, and monitor related processes.
  • Foster teamwork and strong inter-departmental relationships to deter crime.
  • Provide personal assistance, medical attention, or emotional support to coworkers and guests.
  • Serve as a role model and utilize interpersonal skills to lead and influence others.

Customer Service and Additional Duties

  • Meet daily quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Identify educational needs, develop training programs, and instruct others.
  • Inspect and critique loss prevention department performance to maintain professionalism and service.
  • Provide services that exceed customer expectations for satisfaction and retention.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to solve problems.
  • Develop liaison with local law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Inform executives and peers of relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Provide information to supervisors and coworkers via telephone, written form, email, or in person.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage daily department functions and ensure compliance.
