Role Summary: Medical Scientific Liaison – Oncology

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) – Oncology position is a full-time, field-based role responsible for establishing AstraZeneca's scientific leadership. This involves developing professional relationships with healthcare professionals and building a deep scientific understanding of AstraZeneca compounds. The MSL drives positive opinions regarding the scientific and clinical value of AstraZeneca compounds for patient needs and delivers medical education and clinical support. The role also includes training sales teams and contributing to brand strategy development. This position may also review product materials and respond to medical queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver updated medical information from AstraZeneca to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) through various communication channels.
  • Ensure the optimal and efficient delivery of clinical studies that meet established quality, cost, and time standards.
  • Provide monitoring services for ongoing studies and ensure their completion from outline receipt to final report.
  • Plan, conduct, and complete assigned project work effectively, providing timely progress reports as required.
  • Participate in the training and development of team members through knowledge sharing and coaching.
  • Ensure adverse event reports are handled according to standards, procedures, and legislation to meet legal, regulatory, professional, and ethical obligations.
  • Manage the process for providing named patient supplies in compliance with legal, regulatory, professional, and ethical obligations.
  • Identify, coordinate, and integrate pharmacovigilance systems to comply with regulatory needs and AstraZeneca local and global standards.
  • Foster interpersonal inclusion through self-awareness, developing curiosity, active listening, and strengthening team and peer inclusion.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • Experience in Hematology/Oncology is required; hematology experience is preferred.
  • For Commercial roles: An average achievement of 100% in the last two semesters (S1’2023 + S2’2022) OR an average total score of 100% from the earlier year dashboard and YTD dashboard.
  • For Non-Commercial roles: A consistent performance track record is required.
  • For CSLs/MSLs: At least one year of experience in the current therapy area.
