Job Description

About the Role

Sheraton is seeking a Mgr-Food & Beverage I to oversee all food and beverage operations. This full-time position involves managing culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service operations, focusing on guest and employee satisfaction, maintaining standards, and achieving financial objectives. The role requires proficiency in applicable food and beverage laws and regulations, and the ability to develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage financial, employee engagement, and guest satisfaction plans for Food and Beverage departments.
  • Maintain a positive cost management index for kitchen and restaurant operations.
  • Oversee all culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service operations.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring quality and adherence to customer expectations and brand service culture.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both guests and employees, proactively addressing concerns.
  • Take ownership of guest complaints until resolved or escalated to the appropriate manager.
  • Ensure all banquet functions meet standards and exceed guest expectations.

Leadership and Team Management

  • Supervise and manage employees within the Food and Beverage departments (excluding catering sales).
  • Lead, influence, and encourage team members through strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating honesty and integrity.
  • Foster an environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a passion for service.
  • Provide proactive coaching and counseling, promoting mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
  • Monitor and maintain employee productivity levels.
  • Set clear expectations for employees and team leaders, ensuring appropriate recognition for exceeding expectations.

Human Resources and Development

  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Conduct performance reviews in a timely manner.
  • Promote both Guarantee of Fair Treatment and Open Door policies.
  • Identify developmental needs and provide coaching, mentoring, or training to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Develop action plans to address areas for improvement and leverage strengths based on employee engagement and guest satisfaction results.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in food and beverage operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of all applicable food and beverage laws and regulations.
  • Ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Comply with all corporate accounting procedures.
  • Drive effective departmental communication and information systems through logs, department meetings, and property meetings.
