UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Planning Manager to join its team. This full-time role involves overseeing project planning and controls across various projects, ensuring the application of best practices.

Role Overview

The Planning Manager is responsible for all staff planning and ensuring that good practices are applied in project controls and planning across all projects. This position involves highlighting overall progress, identifying delays, and bringing areas of concern to management's attention. Additionally, the Planning Manager provides support to projects in delay analysis and resolves complex project controls related issues as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, schedule, budget, resources, and milestones for construction projects.
  • Create and manage project schedules, including critical path analysis, resource allocation, and task sequencing to ensure timely project completion.
  • Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders for resource allocation, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, aligning with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges impacting project delivery and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost estimation, monitor project expenses, and implement cost control measures to optimize project profitability.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure projects meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, schedules, progress reports, change orders, and meeting minutes, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in project planning and execution, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to planning and project teams, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, codes, and permits related to construction projects, including safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Regularly monitor project progress against planned schedules, identify deviations or delays, and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company policies.
