The Role of Planning Manager

Mace is seeking a Planning Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to a significant mixed-use development, where Mace provides comprehensive programme management services. The role requires a Saudi national willing to be based in Riyadh.

Project Scope

The Planning Manager will contribute to a major mixed-use development in Riyadh. This extensive programme comprises over 200 individual projects, including cultural and heritage assets, food and beverage outlets, retail spaces, hotels, commercial buildings, and educational facilities. Mace is currently providing programme management for this large-scale initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site visits to validate real-time progress and schedule accuracy.
  • Review and analyse schedules, including critical paths, float, and change documentation.
  • Assess mitigation schedules, providing independent analysis and recommendations.
  • Monitor progress against baseline programmes, identifying delays and reporting performance.
  • Evaluate supporting data (*, procurement, quality) to inform schedule health.
  • Prepare monthly planning reports highlighting risks, trends, and impacts on progress.
  • Track project performance, identifying trends and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Manage and assess project interfaces that may impact delivery.
  • Collaborate with Project Management Consultants (PMCs) and design consultants to ensure accurate productivity outputs.
  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules (Level 3 to Level 2).
  • Ensure alignment with PMO standards, reviewing dashboards and planning procedures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely information flow.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.

Candidate Requirements

  • A relevant degree qualification.
  • Proven experience in delivering residential and/or infrastructure projects within a PMO environment.
  • Demonstrated strong expertise in project controls, including planning/scheduling and earned value management (EVM).

Eligibility and Location

This position is specifically for a Saudi national who is willing to be based in Riyadh. Candidates must meet the necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and possess relevant work experience on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, as these are required for immigration and client approval.
