About the Role

Maaden is seeking a Principal Specialist, Engineering and Extract Transform Load (Operational Technology), to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to enabling Maaden to leverage operational technology data by establishing scalable, secure, and reliable OT data engineering capabilities across the enterprise. The Principal Specialist will ensure that operational data from industrial systems is transformed into trusted, accessible, and analytics-ready information, supporting operational performance, decision-making, and digital transformation initiatives.

Role Context and Impact

This position strengthens enterprise data foundations by defining engineering standards, governance requirements, and integration patterns. The role enables consistent delivery of high-quality OT data products across multiple sites and operating environments. Through robust pipeline design and architectural leadership, the Principal Specialist improves data availability, reliability, and transparency while maintaining security and compliance requirements. By bridging operational technology environments with enterprise data platforms, this role accelerates analytics adoption, operational insight generation, and AI-driven innovation, contributing to a sustainable and governed industrial data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish enterprise standards, frameworks, and reference architectures for OT data ingestion, transformation, and integration.
• Define scalable patterns for consistent access to operational data across sites, systems, and platforms.
• Deliver resilient OT data pipelines, ensuring reliable, timely, and accurate operational data availability.
• Improve data consistency through robust handling of reconciliation, latency, backfill, quality validation, and exception management.
• Embed governance, lineage, auditability, and quality controls throughout the OT data lifecycle.
• Strengthen compliance with OT security, segmentation, and enterprise data governance requirements.
• Enable the creation of trusted OT data products that support analytics, reporting, operational monitoring, and AI use cases.
• Provide architectural guidance for complex OT integration and engineering initiatives across multiple sites.
• Govern engineering quality by establishing technical standards, design reviews, and delivery assurance mechanisms.
• Advance OT data engineering capabilities through the adoption of modern engineering practices and technologies.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and Extract Transform Load (ETL) within Operational Technology environments.
• Demonstrated ability to establish enterprise standards and frameworks for data ingestion and integration.
• Experience in designing and implementing resilient data pipelines with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Proficiency in embedding data governance, lineage, security, and auditability within data engineering processes.
• Proven track record in enabling the creation of trusted data products for analytics and operational use cases.
• Strong technical leadership skills, including providing architectural guidance and ensuring engineering quality.

Success in this role will be measured by the consistent availability, trustworthiness, and accessibility of OT data across enterprise analytics and operational platforms. Data pipelines will operate with high levels of reliability, resilience, and performance across multiple sites. Governance, lineage, security, and auditability requirements will be embedded within OT data engineering processes. Operational data products will effectively support business decision-making, performance management, and advanced analytics initiatives. The consistent adoption of OT-to-IT integration standards across projects and operating environments, alongside improvements in engineering quality, delivery consistency, and platform scalability, will also be key indicators of success.
