About the Role

ABIS is seeking a QC Inspector - Structural to join our team. This full-time position involves performing inspection and testing of structural steel fabrication and erection activities to ensure compliance with project requirements. The role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Role Summary

The QC Inspector - Structural is responsible for verifying that all structural steel fabrication and erection works adhere to specified drawings, technical specifications, and applicable industry codes and standards. This includes conducting various inspections and maintaining detailed quality records.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on structural steel fabrication and erection works.
• Witness structural bolting, welding, and alignment checks in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Verify structural steel installation against approved drawings, erection plans, and specified tolerances.
• Verify materials, including structural steel, bolts, and coatings, against material certificates and specifications.
• Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as required.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
• Maintain comprehensive inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
• Verify the calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
• Support the generation of punch-lists and verify the closure of items for structural works.
• Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and relevant structural codes, such as AISC.
• Support the preparation of quality documentation for structural handover dossiers.

Performance Evaluation

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on several key indicators, ensuring high standards of quality control are maintained.

• Accuracy and completeness of inspections.
• Timely identification and reporting of non-conformances.
• First-time inspection pass rate on assigned work fronts.
• Adherence to inspection schedules and hold points.
• Quality of inspection documentation.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant quality control or inspection role, specifically within structural steel fabrication and erection.
