About the Role

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a QC Inspector Structural to join their team in Al Jubayl, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves performing inspection and testing activities related to structural steel fabrication and erection to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Role Overview

The QC Inspector Structural is responsible for verifying that all structural steel fabrication and erection activities adhere to approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards. This includes conducting various inspections and maintaining detailed quality documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections on structural steel fabrication and erection works.
  • Witness structural bolting, welding, and alignment checks in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Verify structural steel installation against approved drawings, erection plans, and specified tolerances.
  • Confirm materials, including structural steel, bolts, and coatings, against material certificates and specifications.
  • Record inspection results accurately and raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when necessary.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain comprehensive inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
  • Verify the calibration status of all measuring and test equipment used on site.
  • Support the generation of punch lists and verify the closure of identified structural deficiencies.
  • Ensure work fronts comply with approved method statements and relevant structural codes, such as AISC.
  • Assist in the preparation of quality documentation for structural handover dossiers.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant QC inspection role, specifically with structural steel.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and international codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in performing various structural inspection techniques.

Performance Metrics

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on several key indicators, including:

  • The accuracy and completeness of inspections performed.
  • Timely identification and reporting of non-conformances.
  • The first-time inspection pass rate on assigned work fronts.
  • Adherence to inspection schedules and hold points.
  • The overall quality of inspection documentation.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, requiring on-site presence to conduct inspections and coordinate with various project stakeholders.
