Senior Chiller Technician

About the Role

Carrier is seeking a Senior Chiller Technician to join their team. This full-time role involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of HVAC and chiller systems. The successful candidate will ensure reliable equipment performance, high-quality service delivery, and compliance with company procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) requirements.

Role Overview

The Senior Chiller Technician will apply strong technical expertise in chiller systems, communicate effectively with customers, and work both independently and collaboratively to deliver service. This position requires maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism, including identifying and mitigating work-related hazards, complying with Carrier policies, maintaining accurate service records, and ensuring all work meets applicable standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of chillers and associated HVAC equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
• Inspect air-conditioning and chiller systems, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain, adjust, and repair electrical and electronic control systems, motors, pumps, blowers, coils, belts, and other equipment components.
• Repair or replace damaged parts to ensure efficient and reliable equipment operation.
• Conduct site inspections and prepare technical reports detailing site conditions, scope of work, findings, and recommendations.
• Estimate labor hours, materials, and tools required for assigned jobs.
• Complete job cards, job completion certificates, daily timesheets, maintenance records, and EH&S site survey documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate with customers regarding work progress, outstanding issues, and recommended corrective actions or improvements.
• Complete assigned tasks within agreed timelines while maintaining service quality, customer satisfaction, and an organized worksite.
• Identify potential safety risks and implement appropriate control measures before and during work activities.
• Safely rig and set up gantries and lifting equipment for handling heavy machinery, including chillers and pumps, in accordance with approved procedures.
• Manage and maintain tools and equipment, including collection, delivery, proper use, and inventory control.
• Adhere to company processes, quality management standards, EH&S procedures, and applicable manufacturer requirements.
• Escalate technical issues, safety concerns, and resource requirements to the Supervisor or Manager as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Attend technical training sessions, EH&S meetings, and other assigned training programs.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in chiller systems and HVAC maintenance.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults in chiller and HVAC equipment.
• Ability to interpret manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
