About the Role

Maaden is seeking a Senior Engineer Mining to join our team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves planning and coordinating the availability and use of people, supplies, and equipment to support efficient mine operations. The Senior Engineer ensures all activities align with statutory, safety, and environmental conditions, contributing to the operational integrity of our mining projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Engineer Mining will be responsible for a range of critical functions, encompassing resource planning, engineering analysis, commercial oversight, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. Key duties include:

• Conducting preliminary surveys and determining the feasibility of ore extraction.
• Planning and coordinating the deployment of labor, supplies, and equipment.
• Consulting with various specialists on mining infrastructure and environmental protection.
• Preparing project estimates, assessing viability, and managing expenditure.
• Analyzing and compiling statistical production reports for management.
• Monitoring and enforcing adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs.

Resource and Extraction Planning

• Test the validity of minable resources through preliminary surveys conducted with geologists.
• Determine the feasibility of ore extraction based on survey findings.
• Identify suitable ore extraction methods, considering factors such as overburden depth, altitude, deposit characteristics, and surrounding strata.
• Plan and coordinate the efficient use of labor, supplies, and equipment, ensuring compliance with efficiency, statutory, safety, and environmental conditions.

Engineering and Commercial Analysis

• Consult with geologists, metallurgists, and other engineers regarding mining machines, facilities, systems, infrastructure, and environmental protection or restoration initiatives.
• Prepare comprehensive operating and project estimates, and assess the capital and operating viability of proposed projects.
• Control expenditure during production phases and participate in negotiations for mine purchases or investments.
• Analyze environmental sensitivities related to mining processes, waste management, chemical use, environmental and cultural factors, and geopolitical considerations.

Reporting and HSE Oversight

• Analyze and compile monthly and yearly statistical production reports for management review and information dissemination.
• Monitor adherence to Maaden Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) programs, policies, and procedures.
• Provide guidance and recommendations to address unsafe or damaging work practices within the assigned area.
• Investigate incidents in the assigned work area, provide recommendations or responses, and brief contractors on applicable HSE regulations.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in mining engineering or a related field.
