Job Description

About the Role

Craft Group is seeking a Senior QA/QC Engineer for full-time positions on fast-track projects in Al Ula, Al Madinah. This role is critical for ensuring project quality, supporting construction progress, and facilitating handover processes by meticulously tracking and closing all quality-related issues.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to manage and ensure the timely resolution of all inspections, consultant comments, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), snag lists, and other quality issues. The Senior QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for maintaining project quality standards and contributing to efficient project completion and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage QA/QC activities for the assigned discipline from execution through testing, commissioning, and final handover.
  • Maintain a live tracker for all consultant/client comments, including WIR comments, NCRs, site observations, snag lists, and technical remarks.
  • Assign comments to the responsible construction team or subcontractor with clear target closure dates.
  • Follow up daily on outstanding comments until physical rectification, reinspection, and formal closure are completed.
  • Highlight aging and overdue comments and escalate immediately if closure impacts progress, inspections, or handover.
  • Verify proper rectification of comments before requesting consultant reinspection.
  • Prevent the repetition of previously raised consultant comments.
  • Ensure previous inspection comments and prerequisite works are closed before submitting subsequent Work Inspection Requests (WIRs).
  • Prepare, submit, and actively follow up on WIRs, Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), inspections, testing records, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Ensure inspections are raised on time and works are fully ready before consultant attendance.
  • Coordinate directly with Construction, Engineering, MEP, Planning, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues promptly.
  • Review approved drawings, specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and material approvals before execution.
  • Minimize Code C/rejected inspections, NCRs, repeated comments, and rework.
  • Drive the closure of NCRs, consultant comments, punch lists, and snag lists against agreed weekly targets.
  • Support testing & commissioning, as-built records, and handover documentation.
  • Attend consultant/client inspections and provide clear technical explanations when required.
  • Maintain a strong site presence, including extended working hours or shifts when project priorities demand.

Performance Expectations

Performance will be assessed based on several key metrics, including:

  • Number and aging of open consultant comments.
  • Weekly consultant-comment closure rate.
  • Closure of overdue comments against agreed target dates.
  • WIR/MIR approval and turnaround time.
  • Reduction of Code C/rejected inspections.
  • NCR closure performance.
  • Reduction of repeated comments and rework.
  • Snag and punch-list closure.
  • Inspection readiness versus construction program.
  • Testing & Commissioning and handover readiness.
  • Achievement of weekly and final project targets.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing quality for fast-track projects.

  • Expected to own the complete closure cycle for every consultant comment: identify, register, assign, follow up, verify, reinspect, and formally close.
