About the Role

Maaden is seeking a Specialist HSE to join its team in Ad Duwayd, Northern Frontier, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to ensuring safety compliance and enhancing overall safety performance across mine sites. The Specialist HSE will play a critical part in maintaining a secure working environment and fostering a robust safety culture within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections, audits, and assessments to identify hazards and unsafe conditions at mine sites.
• Monitor employee adherence to mine safety rules and regulations, providing written reports on any violations.
• Investigate all injury and non-injury accidents to determine causal factors and submit recommendations to concerned department heads.
• Ensure contractors' employees are fully cognizant of company safety and environmental regulations and follow up to assure complete compliance.

Safety Performance and Reporting

• Record and analyze accident statistics, proposing essential actions to enhance safety performance and minimize occurrences.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly safety reports to key personnel.
• Coordinate with Internal Audit (Finance) regarding incidents, particularly those involving equipment and property damage subject to insurance claims.
• Represent the safety section in committee safety meetings and participate in emergency team operations as required.

Developing Safety Culture

• Initiate the distribution of safety communication materials and letters as part of general safety promotions to enhance safety consciousness among all employees.
• Monitor mine sites for existing or new safety matters and tasks, recommending necessary corrective actions to responsible personnel when incidents or violations occur.
• Collaborate with general foremen and superintendents to assess potential safety problems and implement corrective actions.
• Establish a comprehensive safety culture strategy for the mine site.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this full-time position will bring 5 to 10 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) roles. This experience should demonstrate a proven ability to manage safety compliance, conduct thorough investigations, and contribute to the development of a strong safety culture within an operational environment.

Work Setting

This role is based at Maaden's operations in Ad Duwayd, Northern Frontier, Saudi Arabia. The Specialist HSE will work directly within mine sites, actively engaging with operations to implement and monitor safety protocols and initiatives.
