About the Role

WSP Middle East is seeking a qualified and proactive HSE Specialist to join the PMCM team on a prestigious project in Riyadh. This full-time position is open to Saudi nationals only. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with project Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements across construction activities.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to promote a strong safety culture and support the project's commitment to achieving the highest safety standards. The HSE Specialist will ensure that all operations adhere to established safety protocols, national regulations, and international best practices, contributing to a secure and compliant work environment throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor site activities and ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, Saudi regulations, and international best practices.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented.
• Review and monitor contractors' HSE plans, risk assessments, method statements, and permits to work.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports with recommendations.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
• Monitor compliance with environmental requirements and sustainability standards.
• Ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage and safe working practices across all construction activities.
• Track and report HSE performance metrics, preparing weekly and monthly reports.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement of safety performance.
• Support emergency preparedness and response activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as an HSE Specialist, with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and enforce HSE compliance in construction environments.
• Strong understanding of Saudi HSE regulations and international best practices.
• This position is exclusively for Saudi nationals.

Work Environment and Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, working on a significant project within the PMCM team. The role requires a consistent on-site presence to effectively monitor construction activities and ensure adherence to HSE standards.
