Tech Lead

About the Role

TAWANTECH is seeking a Tech Lead to provide advanced technical leadership and engineering direction for development initiatives. This full-time role focuses on ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned with enterprise architecture and engineering standards, while maintaining an individual contributor capacity. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose and Context

The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical leadership within a squad, defining technical approaches, engineering standards, and implementation patterns for assigned products. The Tech Lead will drive the technical design and development of complex systems and critical components, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural alignment without direct people-management accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for a squad while operating as an individual contributor.
• Define technical approaches, engineering standards, and implementation patterns for assigned products.
• Lead the technical design and development of complex systems and critical components.
• Facilitate squad ceremonies and manage team-level delivery cadence and technical planning.
• Break down features into technical work and support estimation and sequencing with the Product Owner.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and resolve complex engineering challenges.
• Review solution designs, code, and implementations for quality and architectural alignment.
• Drive engineering best practices for scalability, security, performance, maintainability, and reliability.
• Ensure squad delivery meets change governance, release, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate technical options and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and design patterns.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints, and recommend mitigations.
• Support architecture decisions and ensure consistency across integrated systems.
• Drive resolution of critical production issues requiring advanced engineering expertise.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and code reviews, without direct people-management accountability.
• Collaborate with architecture, product, platform, quality, and engineering stakeholders on delivery.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant technical role.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and engineering direction.
• Proven experience in technical design and development of complex systems.
• Strong understanding of engineering best practices for scalability, security, performance, maintainability, and reliability.
