About the Role

Meitu is seeking experienced Arabic linguists to join its freelance localization network in Saudi Arabia. This contract role focuses on supporting the translation, review, and refinement of AI-translated and localized content. The objective is to ensure that Meitu's products are natural, culturally appropriate, and well-adapted for users in the Arabic market.

Key Responsibilities

• Proofread and refine AI-translated strings across applications, including buttons, dialogs, notifications, settings, banners, and toasts, to ensure accuracy, fluency, consistency, and appropriate tone.
• Review localized product and UI copy for contextual accuracy, naturalness, terminology consistency, cultural appropriateness, and other language quality issues.
• Review in-app copy to ensure alignment with local language conventions, user preferences, and cultural norms, identifying content that may be unnatural, culturally insensitive, or inappropriate.
• Translate, review, and localize marketing content, including promotional materials, App Store listings, push notifications, in-app campaigns, and social media content.
• Adhere to project-specific terminology, style guides, and localization requirements to maintain consistent, high-quality output.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Excellent command of Arabic, demonstrating strong grammar, idiomatic expression, writing ability, and understanding of local cultural nuances.
• Strong English comprehension and professional experience translating or reviewing content from English into Arabic.
• Experience in translation, proofreading, editing, localization, or linguistic review, with 5-10 years of experience required.
• Experience in app, software, website, UI, marketing, or other digital-content localization is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify translation errors, terminology inconsistencies, unnatural wording, formatting issues, and cultural mismatches.
• Familiarity with CAT tools and AI-assisted translation or MTPE workflows is preferred.
• Strong copywriting and transcreation skills are considered an advantage, particularly for marketing and user-facing content.

Collaboration Model

This is a remote, project-based freelance opportunity. Workload will vary depending on project needs, and there is no guaranteed minimum volume of work. Assignments will be offered based on business requirements, project specifications, and the linguist's availability.

Selection Process

The selection process involves a Resume Review, followed by a Practical Localization Test. Candidates whose background aligns with the requirements will be invited to complete a short practical localization test. Those who successfully pass the test will be eligible to join Meitu's freelance linguist pool and receive future project-based assignments. No interview is required for this freelance opportunity.
