Role Overview

Assystem Radicon is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join its team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time role requires over 10 years of experience and involves leading electrical engineering teams, managing design development, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with various stakeholders across projects. The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for technical assurance and quality control within the electrical discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical engineering team, allocating activities and providing technical direction and mentorship.
• Oversee the development of electrical designs for buildings and infrastructure, including power distribution, emergency power systems, lighting, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Ensure the preparation and independent technical review of electrical engineering calculations, such as load schedules, sizing calculations, voltage drop, and short-circuit analyses.
• Lead the preparation and review of design deliverables, including reports, specifications, single-line diagrams, layouts, and schedules.
• Ensure designs comply with Saudi Building Code (SBC 401), Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) standards, and other applicable Saudi and international regulations.
• Lead technical coordination with SEC and other utility providers, managing connection requirements and approvals.
• Coordinate electrical requirements with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, structural, mechanical, and ICT.
• Support BIM implementation, coordinate with BIM Managers, and participate in clash-detection reviews.
• Perform technical reviews of electrical designs, ensure quality assurance, and maintain compliance with Assystem's Quality Management System.
• Represent the electrical discipline in client and stakeholder meetings, presenting design concepts and addressing technical comments.
• Provide tender and construction support, including reviewing technical submissions, responding to RFIs, and assisting with site issue resolution.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and innovation, promoting energy-efficient and sustainable electrical solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 12–15 years of relevant electrical design experience, with strong experience in both building and infrastructure electrical design.
• Demonstrable experience leading electrical engineering teams.
• Significant experience with multidisciplinary engineering consultancy or design organizations.
• Experience with Saudi Arabian projects is strongly preferred.
• Valid or eligible professional registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Professional Engineer, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent international professional registration is advantageous.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Working knowledge of relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Microsoft Visio, and BIM collaboration platforms.
• Strong telecommunications engineering knowledge and ICT/ELV design capability.
• Knowledge of both building and infrastructure telecom systems.
• Demonstrated team leadership, technical problem-solving, and design coordination skills.
• Proficiency in technical checking and review, client-facing communication, and coordination with service providers and authorities.
• Strong planning, organization, quality awareness, and risk awareness.
• Ability to manage multiple design packages simultaneously and work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
