About the Role

Batterjee Medical College in Dammam, Ash Sharqiyah, is seeking a full-time Faculty Member in Physics for its Preparatory Year Program. This role is designed to establish students' foundational understanding of physics concepts and to cultivate analytical and problem-solving skills essential for future healthcare and medical studies. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience, with the salary to be disclosed upon application.

Key Responsibilities

The Faculty Member will be responsible for delivering comprehensive physics education and supporting student development. Key duties include:

• Delivering Physics lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions to preparatory year students.
• Teaching core topics such as mechanics, energy, waves, electricity, and basic optics.
• Simplifying complex concepts for students from diverse academic backgrounds.
• Applying student-centered teaching approaches to enhance engagement and understanding.
• Utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Blackboard and other digital tools effectively.
• Preparing and administering assessments, including through platforms like ExamSoft or equivalent.
• Maintaining accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic reports.

Student Support and Development

A crucial aspect of this role involves providing direct support to students to ensure their academic success and skill development:

• Providing academic guidance to students with varying levels of physics background.
• Identifying struggling students and offering targeted support.
• Developing students’ analytical thinking and quantitative reasoning abilities.

Academic Quality and Collaboration

The Faculty Member will also contribute to maintaining high academic standards and fostering a collaborative environment:

• Ensuring compliance with academic policies, quality standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Contributing to course development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Submitting course reports and academic documentation in a timely manner.
• Participating in departmental meetings and academic initiatives.
• Collaborating with other faculty members to ensure aligned curriculum delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should meet the following requirements:

• Education: Master’s or PhD in Physics or a related field.
• Experience: 4-5 years of experience teaching Physics, preferably within preparatory or foundation programs.
• Skills: Strong ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with LMS (Blackboard) and various digital teaching tools.
