About the Internship

AWS EMEA SARL (Saudi Arabia Branch) - H11 is offering a Data Center Engineering Operations Internship for 2027 in Riyadh. This internship provides hands-on experience with the critical infrastructure supporting Amazon's global data centers. The role is designed as a potential pathway to full-time employment, with strong-performing interns considered for an Engineering Operations Technician position, subject to business needs.

Role Overview

As an Engineering Operations Technician Intern, you will provide technical support within Amazon's owned and operated data centers. The primary objective is to ensure 100% availability of the data center's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, while maintaining high standards of customer service for on-site teams. This role involves both independent work and team collaboration, requiring strong prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Assisting with root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Taking daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Using internal Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to manage building workflows.
• Interacting with third-party vendors and contractors working on site.

Internship Structure and Requirements

This is a full-time internship, requiring 40 hours per week for 3 consecutive months, starting in summer 2027. Interns are required to report to work on site daily, typically following a Sunday through Thursday day schedule. Candidates should note that full-time Engineering Operations Technician roles operate on a rotating shift pattern, which may include days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Willingness to commit to shift work upon transitioning to a full-time position is expected.

About the Team

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This team ensures the continuous operation of AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. Interns will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers, collaborating to maintain high standards for safety and security while providing scalable capacity for customers.
