Senior CAD/GIS Technician

About the Role

Egis (KSA) is seeking an experienced Senior CAD/GIS Technician to join the Metro Project Management and Construction Management team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This contract role requires 5-10 years of experience, focusing on leveraging advanced technical expertise in computer-aided design and geographic information systems to support metro infrastructure projects.

Role Overview

As a senior-level technician, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, analyzing spatial data, and coordinating with project teams. The role also involves mentoring junior technicians to ensure project success and adherence to technical standards for metro infrastructure planning, design, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive CAD models and technical drawings for metro infrastructure projects using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Conduct spatial analysis and create detailed GIS maps to support project planning, design, and decision-making processes.
• Manage and organize project data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established technical standards and protocols.
• Coordinate with engineering, project management, and construction teams to translate design requirements into precise technical documentation.
• Analyze project requirements and provide technical recommendations to optimize design efficiency and feasibility.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior CAD/GIS technicians, fostering professional development and maintaining quality standards.
• Prepare and update project databases, ensuring all spatial and design information is current and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of technical drawings and GIS data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CAD and GIS data for comprehensive project visualization and analysis.
• Document technical processes, maintain project records, and generate reports as required for project tracking and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in CAD/GIS technical roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Demonstrated experience with metro, transit, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of spatial data analysis, cartography, and geographic information systems.
• Proficiency in technical drawing standards, design conventions, and project documentation requirements.
• Experience with project coordination and cross-functional team collaboration.
• Proven ability to mentor and guide junior technical staff.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in data management systems and database applications.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of infrastructure design principles and construction management practices.
• Experience with 3D modeling and visualization tools.
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian infrastructure standards and regulations.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is offered on a contract basis. The position involves working within a project management and construction management team dedicated to metro infrastructure projects.
