Business Development Engineer

About the Role

DAR ENGINEERING is seeking an experienced Business Development Engineer to join its Business Development team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on the Power and Energy sector, requiring an electrical engineering professional with 5-10 years of experience and a strong consulting/engineering background. The successful candidate will identify and secure new business opportunities across power generation, transmission and distribution (T&D), and substation projects, while building long-term relationships with developers and contractors in the Saudi market.

Role Purpose and Context

The Business Development Engineer will combine technical credibility in the power/energy domain with commercial acumen. This position acts as a bridge between DAR Engineering's capabilities and the needs of developers and contractors throughout the project lifecycle, contributing to growth across power and energy infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia and the GCC.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the Power and Energy sector, including power generation, T&D, and substation projects in Saudi Arabia.
• Develop and execute a focused business development strategy targeting developers and contractors in the power/energy market.
• Build and maintain relationships with key developers, EPC contractors, utilities (*, SEC, NGC), and other strategic stakeholders.
• Monitor market trends, upcoming tenders, giga/mega-project pipelines (*, Vision 2030-linked initiatives), and competitor activity.
• Lead client engagement from initial approach and presentations through proposal submission and contract negotiation.
• Collaborate with DAR's technical, design, and engineering teams to ensure proposals accurately reflect project scope and value proposition.
• Support positioning of DAR Engineering across all project stages relevant to power and energy infrastructure.
• Represent DAR Engineering at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen brand visibility.
• Coordinate with Bid & Tendering, Marketing, and Technical departments to develop client-focused proposals.
• Track and report on the Power & Energy business development pipeline, win rates, and revenue targets.
• Provide market intelligence and client feedback specific to the power/energy sector to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Electrical engineering professional with a strong consulting/engineering background.
• 5-10 years of experience in business development within the Power and Energy sector.
• Demonstrated ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Strong commercial acumen and technical credibility in the power/energy domain.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with developers and contractors.
