Cover Teacher

About the Role

Misk Schools is seeking a Cover Teacher for the Junior School, covering students from KG1 to Grade 3 (ages 3 to 9). This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver high-quality education, ensuring the highest standards in student work and conduct, while upholding the school's statutory policies and prioritizing student safeguarding and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in alignment with the Misk Curriculum and local requirements.
• Establish a safe and stimulating learning environment for students.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver schemes of work, providing feedback according to school and departmental procedures.
• Maintain records of student progress, including all statutory documents, and produce reports and grades as per the school calendar.
• Conduct termly interviews with parents to discuss student performance and progress.
• Oversee student welfare, record attendance, and monitor rewards and sanctions.
• Employ diverse teaching approaches, differentiate instruction, and provide pastoral support in line with school policies.
• Implement all welfare and safeguarding policies, liaising with staff such as school nurses and educational counselors as needed.
• Adhere to attendance register regulations and effectively implement emergency and evacuation procedures.
• Conduct standardized tests and document student performance when required.
• Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings, training days, and other required school events.
• Supervise students during morning parade, dismissal, playtimes, lunchtimes, and assemblies as required.
• Promote subjects within the school and provide co-curricular opportunities.
• Utilize school-approved digital technology tools and liaise with the cultural committee for culturally acceptable lesson materials.
• Teach no more than 25 lessons per week and support with cover and duty as directed by the School Principal.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

The Cover Teacher is required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, adhering strictly to the school’s safeguarding policies and staff code of conduct. This role involves direct support to the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure the safety and well-being of all students at the school.

Candidate Profile

Candidates should possess strong subject expertise, maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills, and demonstrate self-critical reflection. The role requires honesty, integrity, and the ability to foster positive professional relationships, collaborating effectively with parents in the best interests of students. A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant educational setting is required.
