About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Mapping & Charting Manager to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and requires 5-10 years of experience. BAE Systems operates as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor, providing essential equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia, including maintenance for the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) and training for RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel. The company is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda through Saudisation and the development of national capability.

Role Purpose

The Mapping & Charting Manager is responsible for the creation and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date maps and charts, ensuring adherence to applicable geospatial data standards and policies. This role requires the ability to work independently, plan, and organize team activities effectively to meet project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain maps and charts utilizing geospatial tools and technologies.
• Ensure all maps and charts comply with relevant geospatial data standards and policies.
• Collaborate with other geospatial specialists to integrate geospatial data and intelligence products into mapping products.
• Apply analytical and creative skills to develop optimal map layouts and designs.
• Monitor and review map and chart production processes to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of current mapping and charting platforms and tools.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in geography, GIS, or a related field.
• Certificate in Navigation & Hydrographical Mapping and Charting or equivalent.
• Extensive experience (5-10 years) in mapping and charting roles.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Desktop.
• Strong knowledge of cartography principles, geospatial tools, and technologies.
• In-depth understanding of nautical chart types, including ENC, DNC, and AML.
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and customers.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role requires the ability to work effectively unsupervised and to plan and organize team activities.
