About the Market Access Manager Role

AbbVie is seeking a Market Access Manager for its Immunology division, specifically for Saudi Nationals. This full-time position is based in Riyadh. The role is crucial in ensuring that AbbVie's innovative medicines and solutions effectively reach patients by navigating the complexities of market access within the Saudi healthcare landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop key insights for new products, influencing clinical development to optimize market access and pricing.
  • Ensure pricing and reimbursement strategies align with commercial objectives at national and local levels to meet or exceed affiliate plans.
  • Collaborate with Medical and Government Affairs to build relationships with key decision-makers and leverage joint initiatives for brand success.
  • Maintain close collaboration with Area and Global teams, understanding the impact of local affiliate decisions on AbbVie's global business and vice versa, ensuring alignment of strategies and tactics.
  • Anticipate and influence contracting and tendering situations, developing strategies to address challenges and maximize opportunities.
  • Develop, lead, and coach direct reports, if applicable.
  • As a member of the Affiliate Management Team, role model AbbVie behaviors and enable effective Brand Team matrix operations to achieve high-quality strategy and execution for allocated brands.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Life Sciences, Business, Economics, or a related field is required. An advanced degree in Market Access, Health Economics, Public Health, or Business is advantageous.
  • Must be a Saudi national.
  • Requires 5+ years of relevant experience in Market Access, Key Account Management, Sales Management, Field Management, or a similar commercially focused role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Prior exposure to Immunology, Dermatology, Specialty Care, or other complex therapy areas is preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • A strong understanding of the Saudi healthcare environment, including payer dynamics, access pathways, and key healthcare stakeholders.
  • A foundational understanding of health economics, pricing principles, value proposition development, and access strategy.
  • The ability to translate complex clinical, economic, and access-related information into clear, practical messages for internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong strategic mindset with the capacity to contribute to access planning, pricing discussions, and cross-functional business priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions, including Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Finance, and other business teams.
  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English is required.
  • Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach with the ability to simplify complex topics and drive initiatives forward.
