About the Role

GMG is seeking an Operations Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to overseeing the operational performance of a large cluster or multiple territories within the Sports retail network, ensuring operational excellence and commercial success.

Role Purpose and Context

The Operations Manager ensures best-in-class store execution, operational consistency, and commercial performance across assigned territories. This role is responsible for driving an elevated customer experience and fostering strong team development. The position serves as a critical operational link between Area Managers, Store Managers, and the Operations Director, facilitating the flawless delivery of retail standards, business strategies, and cross-functional initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support Area Managers and Store Managers to ensure consistent daily store execution across all assigned territories.
• Ensure adherence to retail standards, operational SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance expectations across all stores.
• Manage territory operational KPIs, including revenue, conversion, ATV, UPT, productivity, shrinkage, and customer service results.
• Conduct structured store visits, implement follow-up actions, and continuously track performance.
• Drive territory commercial performance and lead weekly/monthly business reviews to analyze sales trends, identify gaps, and develop action plans.
• Ensure effective execution of promotions, campaigns, and seasonal launches in coordination with Marketing, VM, and Merchandising teams.
• Build annual store performance forecasts and support budgeting processes with the Operations Director.
• Collaborate with Merchandising and Allocation teams to ensure product availability, replenishment, and assortment alignment.
• Provide structured feedback on stock gaps, assortment performance, customer buying trends, and SKU productivity.
• Support Area Managers in executing brand visual standards and floor-set requirements.
• Lead and coach Area Managers, supporting their development, performance management, and succession planning.
• Partner with HR to build frontline capabilities, training pathways, and leadership pipelines.
• Ensure optimal staffing, schedule optimization, and labor alignment with productivity targets.
• Foster a high-performance and customer-first culture across the territory.
• Monitor store compliance with operational checklists, LP guidelines, audit standards, and health & safety requirements.
• Lead operational improvement initiatives to drive consistency and efficiency.
• Support the roll-out of new retail systems, tools, and processes, ensuring adoption by store teams.
• Work closely with Operations, Merchandising, VM, Marketing, HR, and Finance to deliver integrated commercial and operational plans.
• Represent Operations in brand, business, and strategic discussions when delegated.
• Act as an escalation point for Area Managers, resolving operational issues and coordinating with relevant departments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in multi-store leadership, at an Area Manager or Cluster Manager level.
• Demonstrated success in managing international retail brands, preferably within the sports, fashion, or lifestyle industries.
• Strong understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
• Experience managing multi-country or high-volume territories is preferred.
