SENIOR CLINICAL ENGINEER

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Clinical Engineer to join their Clinical Engineering Department. This full-time role involves supervising and leading medical technology service teams that provide operational and technical support for medical diagnostic, therapeutic, and analytical devices and systems used in patient healthcare and research. The Senior Clinical Engineer acts as the primary operational and technical resource for their assigned team.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate all operational and technical support services provided by the assigned service section.
• Ensure the quality of service delivered by Clinical Engineer I’s, Clinical Engineer II’s, Clinical Engineering Technicians, SCDP’s, Interns, and other assigned personnel, as well as external service providers.
• Monitor productivity and quality of work performed by all assigned service teams within the section.
• Train and orient assigned Clinical Engineer I’s, Clinical Engineer II’s, Clinical Engineering Technicians, SCDP’s, Interns, and other personnel.
• Ensure all assigned staff have necessary operational and technical materials to maintain productivity and effectiveness.
• Develop servicing procedures and schedules for medical devices as required.
• Assist in the overall performance appraisal of assigned staff and in developing educational plans for individual effectiveness within the department.
• Develop and implement solutions for engineering problems related to clinical and research equipment.
• Design, fabricate, and modify medical technology as needed.
• Advise on the utilization and adoption of new and existing medical technology within KFSHRC.
• Coordinate the ordering of technical materials required for the support of assigned medical technology.
• Provide and/or coordinate medical equipment user education and instruction.
• Maintain competency in the Clinical Engineering medical technology database and other related computer software programs.
• Actively participate in assigned KFSHRC committees and adhere to all Hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in self and others’ education, training, and development.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in clinical engineering or a related field. The role requires a strong understanding of medical technology and the ability to lead and manage technical service teams effectively.
