About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in Riyadh. This full-time, office/project-based role focuses on the electrical systems design for airport terminal buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage customer designers and contractors in the delivery of electrical systems design for terminal buildings.
• Review technical submissions from designers and contractors related to electrical systems.
• Support Contracts & Procurement with design delivery for procurement, and conduct post-tender technical evaluations and award recommendations.
• Monitor and report on the progress and performance of customer designers and contractors.
• Coordinate with the Stakeholder Management team to ensure timely acquisition of permits and approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide support to Construction & Quality delivery teams during work execution, addressing requests for information, field change requests, non-conformance reports, and work inspection requests.
• Support vendor factory testing and inspections for electrical systems.
• Assist the Start-Up/Commissioning team to ensure early integration of start-up, commissioning, and handover requirements into the design process, and support testing and commissioning during execution.
• Coordinate electrical systems design with other project disciplines, review project design criteria, vendor submissions, construction inspection records, and startup test reports.
• Manage the integration of electrical systems design across multiple contracts, work packages, and stakeholders.
• Liaise with customer representatives as the subject matter expert for electrical systems engineering documentation delivery, including presentations and reporting.
• Conduct audits, prepare reports, and present findings on designer, contractor, stakeholder, and project team adherence to engineering processes and policies.
• Support the production of verification packages for the turnover of completed electrical systems and facilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Knowledge and experience with electrical systems design, including MV & LV power supplies, switchgear & motor control centers, power conditioning equipment, earthing & bonding systems, lightning protection systems, standby power systems, interior and exterior lighting, and fire alarm & detection.
• Familiarity with applicable national and international design codes.
• Familiarity with sustainability design requirements for energy and water conservation, and third-party sustainability accreditation requirements such as LEED and PEER.
• Understanding of the airline industry and international regulatory codes, standards, and design criteria related to airport design.
• Experience with the integration of airport electrical systems into building management systems and SCADA.
• Knowledge of interface management and the management of system-to-civil and system-to-system interfaces.
• Working knowledge and production ability with computer-aided drafting software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Working knowledge of BIM processes, including experience designing projects in BIM platforms, particularly Revit and Navisworks.
