About the Role

VaporVM is seeking a Senior VMware Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on the design, implementation, administration, and troubleshooting of enterprise VMware infrastructure, with additional responsibilities supporting hybrid cloud, network security, cloud migration, and Disaster Recovery environments. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience with strong hands-on expertise in VMware vSphere, vCenter, NSX, and vSAN.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role involves managing and optimizing VMware infrastructure, alongside supporting cloud and network integrations, and disaster recovery solutions.

• Design, deploy, administer, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere enterprise environments.
• Manage vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, clusters, HA, DRS, vMotion, and resource management.
• Configure and manage VMware NSX, including virtual networking, segmentation, routing, and security.
• Manage VMware vSAN, including storage policies, clusters, capacity, performance, and troubleshooting.
• Perform VMware infrastructure upgrades, patching, capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot complex compute, virtualization, networking, and storage issues across VMware environments.
• Ensure high availability, performance, security, and operational stability of VMware infrastructure.

Cloud and Network Integration

This position requires supporting the integration of VMware environments with various cloud platforms and managing network security components.

• Support integration of VMware environments with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Microsoft Azure.
• Configure and troubleshoot hybrid connectivity between on-premises VMware and cloud environments.
• Work with Palo Alto Firewalls on security policies, NAT, VPNs, and threat prevention.
• Manage Infoblox DDI, including DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services.

Cloud Migration and Disaster Recovery

The role involves leading and supporting migration initiatives and maintaining robust disaster recovery solutions.

• Support and lead on-premises VMware-to-cloud migration initiatives.
• Develop migration plans, execution procedures, and technical runbooks.
• Design and maintain VMware-based Disaster Recovery solutions.
• Perform DR failover/failback testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure infrastructure meets availability, recovery, and business continuity requirements.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate significant experience in VMware infrastructure and related cloud technologies.

• 5-10 years of experience in VMware infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, vCenter, NSX, and vSAN.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Microsoft Azure is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Palo Alto Firewalls and Infoblox DDI.
