About alfanar and the Role

alfanar, headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a diversified company with extensive operations in construction, manufacturing, and engineering services across the Middle East and internationally. Its industrial arm, alfanar electric, specializes in manufacturing a wide range of low, medium, and high voltage electrical construction products. We are seeking a Sr. Engineer Product Development Cooling, Data Center to join our team in Riyadh on a full-time basis.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to design, engineer, and develop customized containerized data center power modules. This involves ensuring the seamless integration of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, and STS systems within an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer customized, containerized data center power solutions in accordance with client specifications and Engineer-to-Order (ETO) requirements.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation for the integration of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS, and STS systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards, specifications, and internal engineering guidelines.
• Analyze project requirements, technical constraints, and operational conditions to define optimal power module configurations.
• Conduct engineering evaluations and feasibility assessments to support design decisions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues encountered during product development and system integration.
• Implement design enhancements to improve the efficiency, reliability, and manufacturability of data center power solutions.
• Identify and recommend innovative engineering approaches, components, and materials to optimize product performance and cost.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through design standardization and the integration of lessons learned.

General Accountabilities

• Maintain and update soft and technical skills relevant to the role.
• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets according to delivery schedules, utilizing resources effectively.
• Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
• Resolve related problems and escalate complex operational issues as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to quality requirements, including the development of effective quality control processes and specifications.
• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities where possible.
• Comply with all relevant company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management procedures within the defined work area.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess over 10 years of relevant experience in product development, particularly within cooling systems for data centers or related electrical engineering fields.

This role operates within alfanar's extensive Industrial Complex in Riyadh, situated in the Third Industrial Zone. Spanning 700,000 square meters, the Complex serves as a central hub for alfanar’s facilities, featuring a comprehensive infrastructure including a data and communication center.
