About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking an IS&T Support professional for a full-time, camp-based role on the Ar Rjum project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This position provides frontline deskside, local network, and general Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) support to the project team at the jobsite.

Project Overview

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project featuring three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and comprehensive supporting infrastructure. This includes water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and temporary and permanent accommodation. The project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, a small town on the Jeddah - Riyadh highway.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the project IS&T lead, the IS&T Support professional will utilize a global array of technologies to support jobsite customers. Responsibilities include:

• Responding to customer needs, questions, and concerns, and expediting actions accurately, effectively, and timely.
• Maintaining, diagnosing, and resolving local IT Infrastructure, hardware, and software-related issues, while continuously improving incident resolution and customer service standards. Areas of support include laptop computer hardware and peripherals, mobile device management, networking equipment, video conferencing, and office printing equipment.
• Supporting the project’s automation strategy by installing and maintaining software from an approved suite of company and project standards.
• Working with construction automation to support project systems reporting, data integration, and work process improvements.
• Deploying and providing end-user hardware and IT services to project personnel.
• Following standard operating procedures for IT requests, asset management practices, incidents, and end-user support services.
• Assisting and participating in the implementation and support of new technologies, services, and security remediations.
• Assisting in the IS&T equipment procurement process.

Education and Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience. Education requirements include industry experience gained through a recognized degree in a STEM-related field, specialized courses in Information Systems, Engineering, Construction, or related fields, and/or work experience in a STEM-related field.

Required Knowledge and Skills

This role requires a blend of customer focus, analytical, and technical skills. Key attributes include:

• Eagerness to learn a broad array of general IS&T skills in infrastructure, networking, and general applications support.
• Flexibility to travel and work in a remote construction site location.
• Ability to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of various factors.
• Exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Building productive and collaborative internal/external working relationships with local/remote personnel.
• Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Windows 11 operating system and Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Additional attributes that may be beneficial include:

• Experience identifying, documenting, and communicating changes that may have a cost or schedule impact, and providing input for management reporting.
• Knowledge of satellite/microwave communication technologies, radio systems and call group management, site access control, and construction webcam support.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, camp-based role located at a remote construction site within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, requiring the successful candidate to be flexible regarding travel and work location.
