BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under Government-to-Government arrangements, providing equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is based in Dhahran.

The Role of Egress Maintenance Supervisor

As the Egress Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing maintenance activities and the system testing program for the Tornado Egress System. This includes overseeing Egress System Testing requirements for servicing schedules, unscheduled maintenance, Technical Change and Time Out (TCTOs), and Service Instructions (SIs). You will also manage and supervise the Egress Maintenance Team Technicians. The role may require supporting the RSAF away from the TMSC/Shop and working outside normal trade boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mandatory and independent certification, including Red-X clearance, for completed tasks by Maintenance Team Technicians.
• Plan and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to meet the aircraft maintenance program.
• Coordinate maintenance activity with all trades and other supervisors, prioritising tasks according to the aircraft/shop schedule.
• Monitor and provide daily updates on team progress, highlighting issues impacting the maintenance program to the Aircraft/shop Superintendent.
• Ensure timely and accurate information for Aircraft Engineering System (AES) and Technical Queries, and hold 2nd signature authority.
• Provide accurate estimates for 'additional work' content and hours, and limit overtime through effective planning and the use of flexitime.
• Manage the Egress Maintenance Team, addressing poor performance and disciplinary matters.
• Ensure personnel under supervision possess the necessary knowledge and skills, and that tasks are completed according to approved data, TSS Quality system processes, and M&CA mandates.
• Provide direct supervision to maintain quality standards, investigate technical issues, and prepare reports on accident/incident events.
• Maintain an effective housekeeping program and cooperate with all internal/external audits.
• Ensure sound maintenance practices and documentation procedures are always followed, verifying personnel authorisation/certification before delegating tasks.
• Ascertain that pre-use checks are carried out as required on equipment used in supervised tasks.
• Provide on-the-job theory and practical training, promote personal development, and assess the competency of team personnel.
• Certify personnel for specific tasks when certified as a 'Workplace Trainer'.
• Ensure accurate and timely demands for replacement components/parts, monitoring forecast dates and highlighting critical demands to the Egress/Aircraft Superintendent.
• Verify the availability of serviceable and calibrated test equipment for planned tasks, informing the Egress/Aircraft Superintendent if unavailable.
• Deputise for the Egress Superintendent as required, establishing and maintaining positive relations with internal and external customers.
• Possess and promote understanding of commercial issues related to TSS, ensuring accurate information flow.
• Provide technical reports on aircraft status for daily maintenance meetings and initial investigations into incidents, deficiencies, and damage.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) Registration.
• Extensive post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment.
• Experience supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training or consistent experience on the same aircraft type.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge

• Working knowledge of EASA/M&CA Part 145.
• Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures.
• Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
• Proven supervisory experience within the defined area of responsibility.
