The Role: Testing & Commissioning Engineer Substation

The Testing & Commissioning Engineer Substation is responsible for the comprehensive testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of high-voltage substations and associated electrical systems. This role ensures the safe and reliable operation of these systems, adhering strictly to project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing and commissioning activities for substation equipment and protection systems.
• Conduct primary and secondary injection tests, insulation resistance (IR) tests, and functional checks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and protection system issues effectively.
• Verify installation integrity and ensure full compliance with engineering drawings and relevant standards.
• Prepare detailed testing reports and comprehensive commissioning documents.
• Coordinate closely with project and site teams throughout all commissioning activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the testing and commissioning of substations, with a preferred range of 5-10 years.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Demonstrated knowledge of protection relays, high-voltage (HV) equipment, and established testing procedures.
• Familiarity with international standards such as IEC/IEEE and robust safety protocols.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, requiring on-site presence and coordination with various project stakeholders.
