sraco is seeking a highly experienced Senior Claims Manager to join its team in Medina. This full-time position is critical for managing complex claims and supporting project success within the organization, contributing to the effective resolution of contractual matters.

The Role of Senior Claims Manager

The Senior Claims Manager will be responsible for leading the entire claims lifecycle, from inception to resolution, specifically for RUA projects. This role involves developing and implementing robust claims management frameworks, providing expert advice on contractual entitlements, and actively managing complex claims. The manager will also play a key role in supporting dispute resolution processes, ensuring effective coordination with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end claims lifecycle, including matters related to Extensions of Time (EOT), variations, disruption, and prolongation.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive claims management frameworks across all RUA projects.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual entitlements under FIDIC models and other forms of contracts and agreements.
  • Manage high-value, complex claims, encompassing both offensive and defensive strategies.
  • Support and lead dispute resolution processes, such as Dispute Adjudication Boards (DAB), Dispute Avoidance/Adjudication Boards (DAAB), and arbitration.
  • Coordinate effectively with external counsel, delay experts, and quantum consultants.
  • Offer strategic advice to executive management regarding claims exposure and associated risks.
  • Support project teams in developing and implementing claims avoidance strategies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in claims management.
  • Demonstrated experience with FIDIC contracts and managing complex, high-value claims and disputes.
  • A proven track record of managing major disputes on mega projects.
  • Admission to practice law is strongly preferred.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of Extension of Time (EOT) and delay analysis principles, variations and change management, and disruption and prolongation claims.
  • Familiarity with various arbitration processes, including ICC, LCIA, SCCA, or similar institutions.
  • Familiarity with dispute mechanisms under construction contracts, including FIDIC.
  • Ability to effectively bridge legal, commercial, and technical aspects of claims.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Medina. The role requires a proactive approach within a dynamic project environment, contributing to the successful resolution of complex claims and the strategic management of project risks.
