About the Heavy Equipment Operator II Role

The City of St. Louis Office on the Disabled is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator II for a full-time, permanent position in Tabuk. This role involves operating a variety of heavy equipment for municipal maintenance projects. The salary range for this position is $45,578 - $61,698 annually.

Core Responsibilities

Incumbents in this position are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized heavy machinery. Key duties include:

• Driving heavy, specialized vehicles and related equipment.
• Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Washing and fueling vehicles.
• Conducting street sweeping and flushing operations.
• Delivering concrete and emulsion.
• Performing snow removal and salt spreading.
• Executing street and intersection lining.
• Operating equipment and machinery that requires monitoring multiple conditions and making complex, rapid adjustments. This may include equipment such as automated refuse dump trucks, roll-off container trucks, boom trucks, packer trucks, and front-end loaders.

Required Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A minimum of two years of experience in the operation of heavy and specialized automotive equipment.
• Successful completion of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training program may substitute for one year of the required experience.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) throughout employment with the City of St. Louis.
• Candidates hired with a CDL permit must obtain a valid CDL (Class A or B) as a condition of successfully completing their working test period.
• Note: Some positions may require incumbents to possess a Class A CDL before the completion of their working test period. Please indicate the type of license, number, class, expiration date, and state of issuance on your Employment Application.

Additional Work Conditions

This position may require flexibility in work assignments and availability.

• Some positions may require shifts, weekend, and holiday assignments.
• These positions require availability for 24-hour snow call.
