About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Consultant - Orthopaedics, Lower Limb to provide specialized care within the ICC physical clinic in Jeddah. This part-time, in-person role focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a broad range of acute and chronic lower limb musculoskeletal conditions, including fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, degenerative joint disease, and sports-related injuries. The consultant will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care during scheduled clinic sessions, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate diagnostic work-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, in-person lower limb orthopaedic care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for hip, knee, ankle, and foot conditions.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations, including history taking, physical and functional examination, and review of imaging findings.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based management plans, including non-operative management, pre-operative work-up, and referrals.
• Manage common lower limb orthopaedic conditions, ensuring continuity and coordination of care with the full-time clinical team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physiotherapy and podiatry, to deliver integrated care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EHR to support seamless handover and continuity of care.
• Promote musculoskeletal health through preventive counselling and value-based care principles.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing clear guidance on diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards, maintaining accurate medical documentation.
• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based lower limb orthopaedics practice and in-clinic regulations through continuous professional development.
• Contribute to clinical governance by participating in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.

Professional Development and EHR Proficiency

• Continuously enhance clinical knowledge in lower limb orthopaedics and best practices.
• Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.
• Integrate the latest clinical evidence into practice to improve patient care quality and effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Demonstrate proficiency in the clinic's EHR system and participate in ongoing training for system enhancements.

Patient Safety and Collaboration

• Uphold the highest standards of patient safety by adhering to established clinical safety protocols.
• Identify, report, and escalate patient safety risks, incidents, and quality concerns.
• Counsel patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medication use, and follow-up care.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered consultations through effective communication and shared decision-making.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care and optimize clinical outcomes.
• Provide clinical expertise and recommendations to support evidence-based decision-making.
• Mentor and support junior physicians and healthcare professionals through clinical guidance.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in orthopaedics, with a focus on lower limb conditions. This part-time role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a collaborative clinical environment.
