About the Event Manager Role

Delta Hotels and Resorts is seeking an experienced Event Manager to oversee complex events in Jeddah. This full-time position requires a professional who can ensure seamless event execution from pre-event planning through post-event follow-up, acting as the primary point of contact for clients on property.

Core Responsibilities

The Event Manager is responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinating with sales, property departments, and clients to deliver consistent, high-level service. This role involves managing customer budgets to maximize revenue while meeting client needs, and ensuring a smooth transition of event files between sales and service teams. The position also requires identifying and resolving operational challenges, and acting as a liaison between sales representatives and clients throughout the event lifecycle.

Event Execution and Client Relations

Key duties include leading pre- and post-event meetings to review group needs and feedback, managing group room blocks and meeting space, and up-selling products and services to enhance event offerings. The Event Manager will conduct site inspections, assist with the sales process, and manage revenue and profitability associated with events. This role involves forecasting group sleeping rooms and event revenue, reviewing billing and payments, and actively interacting with guests to gather feedback on service quality. The Event Manager must also handle guest issues and complaints, and ensure their presence is known to the customer throughout the event.

Operational Oversight and Improvement

This position requires problem-solving and suggesting alternative arrangements when necessary. The Event Manager oversees the customer experience from file turnover until the post-event phase, ensuring a seamless handover back to sales. They are expected to strive for continuous improvement in service performance and set a positive example for guest relations. Reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results with associates is also part of the role, alongside coordinating and communicating event details verbally and in writing with all stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years of experience in event management or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major is acceptable with no prior work experience required. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah. The Event Manager will support and act on behalf of the Director of Event Management or Director of Event Planning and Operations in their absence, and will be responsible for celebrating successes and publicly recognizing team members' contributions.
